Kinsa

An app for discovering events and community that resonate.

the problem

For 20-somethings looking to attend events and build community, the discovery process is often fragmented and frustrating. Most rely on scattered Instagram posts, word-of-mouth, or generic event platforms that prioritize volume over relevance — surfacing impersonal or irrelevant listings. This lack of thoughtful curation leads to missed opportunities, fatigue, and experiences that don’t feel authentic, leaving users feeling more disconnected than before.

the solution

Kinsa is a mobile app designed to make event discovery feel personal, intuitive, and aligned. Built specifically for 20–35 year olds seeking meaningful connection, the app delivers tailored event recommendations based on users’ interests, values, and vibe. A streamlined onboarding flow captures preferences up front, while robust filters and calendar integrations make it easy to find and keep track of relevant events.

User interviews & empathy map

Understanding
the users.

A few clear patterns emerged:

  • To find events users often rely on word of mouth, stumbling across social media posts, or manually searching through social media.
  • Users are seeking events that reflect their values and lifestyle.
  • There's a deeper emotional need for belonging and authentic connection.
